This is actually a huge issue that halts most people from changing, because, as we've discovered in our previous videos on fear/anxiety, taking action to reframe our perceptions is the greatest antidote for overcoming any fear. It halts toxic thoughts and habits from propagating throughout our minds - replacing them instead with ideas more aligned with our ambitions and goals.
So, since finding the courage to initially take action is a challenge in and of itself, developing strategies to make it easier is absolutely essential. To facilitate the overall process, one must choose to focus on small, incremental steps / goals - as opposed to the final long-term goal. We all generally want instant results, but focusing on the outcome - as opposed to the process and journey - jeopardizes our ability to stick with our goals and obtain the results we truly desire.
Focusing instead on incremental goals invigorates our spirit, encourages reflection along the journey, and reinforces the idea that it's possible to change. This alternate approach helps to gradually acclimate your mind to taking action and progressing, as opposed to instantly plunging yourself into a challenging situation.
So, the more you act, the more inclined you are to stick with it in the long term. It fuels the belief that it's possible to change with physical, tangible results, and belief is always the essential ingredient for any success.
In the end, the cumulative effect of each short-term goal will ultimately lead you to the results you truly desire. It's no different than a well-planned domino arrangement. The act of knocking over one single domino may be insignificant, but it initiates a chain of action that multiplies and builds momentum. Without the initial action and each domino, the end result would not be possible; every domino contributes to the cumulative result.
So, jump in there NOW and decide to knock over your first domino; plan to take your first step towards a better version of yourself. That initial action may seem impossible, but, once you take it, you'll establish momentum and acclimate your mind to taking action and making a difference.
Remember, Rome was not built in a day; it was built through the accumulation of small accomplishments, and your dreams are no different. So, take action and trust that it'll fit into the long-term goals you're shooting for; you'll have what you seek before you know it. Good luck, and I hope you all enjoy our weekly video :) !!!
